Name: Star Trek the Official Convention 2004 Date: 10-11 January 2003 Venue: Hilton Metropole, London Theme: Star Trek / Star Wars Web site: www.creationent.com/ Guests: Leonard Nimoy, Robert Duncan McNeill, Nana Visitor, Greg Evigan, Jeremy Bullock, Ken Colley, Garrick Hagon, Kathryn Leigh Scott. Report: Last year Creation promised to bring some big names back to London for 2004. They delivered with 3 great head line guests. Unfortunately the creation conventions are hugely expensive, so it was a one day event for me. Saturday had to be the day. Leonard Nimoy was the main guest. After a visit to the dealers room and a quick scout around the booths in the autograph room, it was off to the main hall to see what was going on. I eventually found the main hall down about six flights of stairs. In the hall was the usual goings on, Auctions, guest talks, quizzes and eventually the main man. Mr Nimoy was wonderful, Very funny and full of stories. He even had some out takes from his direction stint on "Star Trek IIII, The voyage home" It was well worth seeing Leonard in the flesh and getting an autograph, but the event was a little disappointing. There was not much atmosphere at this event, possibly because it was so spread out. It was a bit of a shame as the American events look ten times better. Hopefully one day ill get to find out.
