The Gafi stick

The Gafi stick was based around some plumbing waste pipe and a toilet S bend. The club end was moulded using some hard drying modelling clay and a lot of patience. To create the spear end I used a length of wooden doweling as the centre spine. I then drilled and glued some shaped clading boards  all at ninety degrees. The finishing touches were made with several coats of spray paint, and some brush work to make the sticks look old and used.

The Head

I started with a paper Mache mould to mount all the components to. The eyes were made  from aluminium tube with lenses from an old pair of sun glasses mounted inside. The mouth piece was made from some camera case dividers covered in vinyl. The silver breather started off life as a wooden door handle. Once all the parts of the mask were together it was a case of painting and adding loads of dirty bandages. The final touches were some warrior spins made from some stainless steel tube.

The Bandoliers

Bandoliers are very expensive, so I decided to have a go myself. The belt was made from some old floor lyno wrapped in vinyl. Then I made some pouches from vinyl and padded them out with stuffing. The pouches were made in such a way that they would slide on over the belt ready to be positioned as required.

The Suit

The main part of the suit was made from an old blanket. I made the blanket into a large t-shirt shape and sewed it together. The bottom was then ripped and plenty of weathering added. To complete the look I added some heavily weathered gloves, a waist belt and scarf.
